MSLNL Antibody Human HeLa Cell IF. Immunofluorescent staining of FFPE human HeLa cells using MSLNL Antibody. Heat-induced epitope retrieval was performed by steaming in citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 20 minutes. MSLNL staining is shown in red, with DAPI nuclear counterstaining in blue. Positive cytoplasmic staining is observed in HeLa cells. This MSLNL Antibody, also called a Mesothelin-Like Protein Antibody, demonstrates MSLNL expression in human HeLa cells and supports studies of mesothelin-related proteins and cell biology.
MSLNL Antibody Human Colorectal Adenocarcinoma IHC. IHC staining of FFPE human colorectal adenocarcinoma tissue using MSLNL Antibody. Heat-induced epitope retrieval was performed by boiling tissue sections in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0) for 20 minutes, followed by cooling prior to staining. Positive MSLNL staining is observed in the tumor epithelium. This MSLNL Antibody, also called a Mesothelin-Like Protein Antibody, demonstrates MSLNL expression in human colorectal adenocarcinoma and supports studies of mesothelin-related proteins and cell biology.
MSLNL Antibody Human, Rat and Mouse WB. Western blot analysis of MSLNL in human HeLa, rat C6 and mouse NIH 3T3 cell lysates using MSLNL Antibody. Lane 1: human HeLa; Lane 2: rat C6; Lane 3: mouse NIH 3T3. A strong band is detected at approximately 75 kDa, consistent with the predicted molecular weight of MSLNL. This MSLNL Antibody, also called a Mesothelin-Like Protein Antibody, detects MSLNL across human, rat and mouse samples and supports studies of mesothelin-related proteins and cell biology.
MSLNL Antibody Human JK Cell FACS. Flow cytometry analysis of fixed and permeabilized human JK cells using MSLNL Antibody at 1 ug/million cells. Cells were blocked with goat serum prior to staining. The histogram shows MSLNL staining (blue), isotype control (green) and unstained cells (red). A positive fluorescence shift is observed with MSLNL staining relative to the isotype control. This MSLNL Antibody, also called a Mesothelin-Like Protein Antibody, detects intracellular MSLNL in human JK cells by flow cytometry and supports studies of mesothelin-related proteins and cell biology.

Description

MSLNL Antibody / Mesothelin-Like Protein Antibody recognizes MSLNL, a human mesothelin-related protein also known as MPFL and C16orf37. MSLNL is a 702-amino acid protein with sequence similarity to members of the mesothelin family and is also known as pre-pro-megakaryocyte-potentiating-factor-like protein. MSLNL is associated with predicted cell-surface and cell-matrix adhesion functions, although its biological role remains poorly characterized. This makes the protein of interest for studies investigating mesothelin-related proteins, cell adhesion and cell-surface protein expression.

MSLNL shares evolutionary and sequence relationships with MSLN, the gene encoding mesothelin. Mesothelin itself is synthesized as a precursor that undergoes proteolytic processing to generate megakaryocyte potentiating factor and a cell-surface mesothelin protein. Although this relationship provides biological context for MSLNL, the functions established for mesothelin should not automatically be attributed to Mesothelin-Like Protein. UniProt currently assigns MSLNL protein existence based on homology and describes a possible role in cellular adhesion by similarity, indicating that its functional characterization remains substantially less developed than that of MSLN.

Current Gene Ontology annotations associate MSLNL with cell-matrix adhesion and provide a framework for investigating its possible relationship with cell-surface and extracellular biology. These annotations are prediction-based rather than evidence of a thoroughly characterized human biological function. An MSLNL Antibody can therefore be useful in experimental studies aimed at examining the presence, distribution or molecular characteristics of the proposed Mesothelin-Like Protein and evaluating predicted aspects of its biology.

The MSLNL locus is located on human chromosome 16p13.3 and has historically been designated C16orf37. MPFL is another established synonym reflecting its relationship to the megakaryocyte potentiating factor/mesothelin protein family. Comparative studies are particularly relevant to this target because MSLNL orthologs in other vertebrates retain protein-coding annotations. Mouse Mslnl, for example, encodes a mesothelin-like protein precursor containing a conserved mesothelin domain and is predicted to participate in cell-matrix adhesion at the cell surface.

MSLNL remains a relatively poorly characterized member of the broader mesothelin-related protein family, providing opportunities to investigate its expression and potential molecular properties experimentally. Its relationship to mesothelin, predicted association with cell-matrix adhesion and historical MPFL designation make it relevant to studies of cell-surface proteins and mesothelin family biology. NSJ Bioreagents supplies antibodies to MSLNL and other proteins associated with cell adhesion and membrane biology. An MSLNL Antibody can support research on Mesothelin-Like Protein expression, MPFL, cell-surface biology and mesothelin-related proteins.
