Mouse IL-10 Antibody recognizes murine interleukin 10 (IL-10), an immunoregulatory cytokine encoded by the Il10 gene. IL-10 plays an important role in controlling inflammatory responses and maintaining immune homeostasis. It limits excessive immune activation by regulating the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and influencing antigen-presenting cells, lymphocytes, macrophages, and other immune-cell populations. These functions help balance effective immune responses with mechanisms that protect tissues from prolonged inflammation.
Mouse IL-10 signals through a receptor complex containing IL10RA and IL10RB subunits. Receptor engagement activates JAK1 and TYK2 and promotes STAT3-dependent transcription. This signaling pathway induces regulatory programs that suppress inflammatory mediator production and modify immune-cell activation. IL-10-mediated signaling therefore provides an important feedback mechanism through which inflammatory responses can be restrained after immune activation.
IL-10 is produced by multiple immune-cell populations, including regulatory and conventional T cells, B cells, macrophages, monocytes, and dendritic cells.
