Ki-67 Antibody Recombinant Mouse MAb rMKI67/8852. Immunohistochemistry analysis of FFPE human tonsil tissue using Ki-67 antibody recombinant mouse mAb (clone rMKI67/8852). Strong nuclear brown staining is observed in numerous proliferating lymphoid cells within the tonsillar germinal center, consistent with the known expression pattern of Ki-67 / MKI67 in actively dividing cells. Non-proliferating surrounding lymphoid and stromal cells show minimal staining. Heat-induced epitope retrieval was performed by boiling tissue sections in pH 9 10mM Tris with 1mM EDTA for 20 minutes followed by cooling prior to staining.

Description

Ki-67 antigen (MKI67) is a nuclear proliferation-associated protein encoded by the MKI67 gene and widely used as a marker of actively dividing cells. Ki-67 Antibody Recombinant Mouse MAb rMKI67/8852 recognizes this well-characterized proliferation marker and supports detection of Ki-67 protein expression in studies of cell cycle progression, tumor biology, and proliferative signaling pathways. Because Ki-67 expression is tightly linked to the cell cycle, detection of this protein is commonly used to assess cellular proliferation in experimental systems.

Ki-67 antibody, also referred to as Ki67 antibody or MKI67 antibody in the literature, detects a nuclear protein expressed during the G1, S, G2, and mitotic phases of the cell cycle while largely absent in quiescent cells in the G0 phase. This distinct expression pattern allows Ki-67 to serve as a reliable marker of proliferating cell populations. As a result, antibodies targeting Ki-67 are widely used in research examining tissue growth, tumor development, and cell cycle regulation.

Ki-67 plays an important role in chromosome organization during cell division. During interphase, the protein is localized within the nucleus and often associated with nucleolar regions. As cells enter mitosis, Ki-67 redistributes to the perichromosomal layer surrounding condensed chromosomes, contributing to proper chromosomal organization and separation during cell division. These dynamic localization changes reflect the involvement of Ki-67 in maintaining chromatin architecture during the cell cycle.

Elevated expression of Ki-67 is frequently observed in rapidly proliferating cell populations, including many cancer cell types. Because of this association with cellular proliferation, Ki-67 is commonly studied as a biomarker of proliferative activity in cancer research and experimental cell biology. Detection of Ki-67 protein levels can provide insight into cell growth dynamics and the effects of treatments that influence cell cycle progression.

Ki-67 Antibody Recombinant Mouse MAb rMKI67/8852 supports detection of the Ki-67 / MKI67 proliferation marker in research applications focused on cell proliferation and cell cycle biology. This recombinant mouse monoclonal antibody enables investigators to analyze Ki-67 protein expression patterns and evaluate proliferative activity in experimental samples.
