Ki-67 antigen (MKI67) is a nuclear proliferation-associated protein encoded by the MKI67 gene and is widely used as a marker of actively cycling cells. Ki-67 Antibody for IF Staining / Ki67 Staining Antibody (clone 5E12) supports immunofluorescence staining approaches that allow researchers to visualize proliferating cells and analyze cell cycle activity using fluorescence microscopy. This IF-based staining method enables direct imaging of nuclear Ki-67 distribution within cultured cells and tissue sections.
Ki-67 antibody, also referred to as Ki67 antibody or MKI67 antibody in the literature, recognizes a nuclear protein expressed during the G1, S, G2, and mitotic phases of the cell cycle but largely absent from quiescent G0 cells. Because Ki-67 expression correlates closely with cellular proliferation, Ki-67 Antibody for IF Staining is widely used to identify actively dividing cells and to evaluate proliferative fractions in biological samples using immunofluorescence staining techniques.
Immunofluorescence staining with Ki-67 Antibody for IF Staining typically produces bright nuclear fluorescence in proliferating cells. During interphase, Ki-67 staining often appears as punctate or nucleolar-associated nuclear signal patterns. As cells progress through mitosis, Ki-67 redistributes across condensed chromosomes and perichromosomal regions, producing distinctive staining patterns that can be visualized by fluorescence microscopy. These changes in fluorescence staining patterns provide useful visual indicators of cell cycle progression and mitotic activity.
Because Ki-67 undergoes dynamic redistribution during mitosis, Ki-67 Antibody for IF Staining is frequently used in cell cycle imaging experiments designed to track proliferating cells and to study mitotic chromosome organization. Fluorescence staining of Ki-67 allows investigators to visualize nuclear architecture during different phases of the cell cycle and to distinguish proliferating cells from non-dividing populations within the same culture.
Ki-67 Antibody for IF Staining can also be incorporated into multicolor immunofluorescence staining experiments. In these applications, nuclear Ki-67 staining can be combined with cytoskeletal markers, membrane stains, or DNA dyes to enable simultaneous visualization of cell structure, nuclear morphology, and proliferative status. Such fluorescence staining strategies support detailed imaging of cell cycle dynamics, making Ki-67 Antibody for IF Staining (clone 5E12) a useful tool for fluorescence-based cell cycle imaging and proliferation studies.
Optimal dilution of the Ki-67 Antibody for IF Staining should be determined by the researcher.
An E. coli-derived human protein (amino acids K2860-I3256) was used as the immunogen for the Ki-67 antibody.
After reconstitution, the Ki-67 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
