Description

JAB1 (also known as COPS5) is a catalytic subunit of the COP9 signalosome (CSN), a conserved regulator of cullin–RING E3 ubiquitin ligases. Via its JAMM/MPN+ metalloprotease domain within the CSN, JAB1 promotes deneddylation of cullins, thereby tuning ubiquitin-dependent turnover of signaling and cell cycle regulators. JAB1 functions in both nucleus and cytoplasm, linking proteostasis to transcriptional responses and stress adaptation.

Through control of CRL activity, JAB1 influences pathways governing cell cycle progression, DNA damage responses, and transcription factor output (including AP-1). Its positioning at the interface of protein stability and signaling makes it a useful readout for studies of ubiquitin–proteasome regulation, pathway modulation, and targeted mechanism-of-action research across diverse models.

The JAB1 antibody enables specific detection of endogenous JAB1 for applications such as western blot, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and immunoprecipitation. Researchers use the JAB1 antibody to quantify protein abundance, assess subcellular localization, and evaluate CSN integrity or neddylation pathway status alongside complementary markers. With high specificity and consistent performance, the JAB1 antibody supports rigorous analysis of ubiquitin signaling and cell regulatory networks.

Application Notes

Optimal dilution of the JAB1 antibody should be determined by the researcher.

Immunogen

Amino acids 8-334 of human JAB1 were used as the immunogen for the JAB1 antibody.

Storage

After reconstitution, the JAB1 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
