Interleukin-3 Receptor Alpha Antibody IL3RA/1822 recognizes IL3RA, a type I transmembrane glycoprotein also known as CD123. Encoded by the IL3RA gene, this protein forms the ligand-binding alpha subunit of the interleukin 3 receptor and contributes to regulation of hematopoietic cell survival, proliferation, and differentiation. CD123 expression among hematopoietic progenitors and multiple immune-cell populations reflects the importance of IL-3 responsiveness in blood-cell development and immune regulation.
IL3RA binds IL-3 with relatively low affinity when expressed independently. Association with the common beta subunit CSF2RB (CD131) produces the functional high-affinity IL-3 receptor complex. CSF2RB is also shared by receptor systems for GM-CSF and IL-5. Formation of the functional receptor enables activation of intracellular pathways including JAK-STAT, PI3K-AKT, and MAPKs, connecting cytokine recognition with changes in cellular survival, proliferation, and differentiation.
Interleukin 3 receptor alpha expression is associated with hematopoietic progenitor cells and several myeloid and immune-cell populations. The Interleukin-3 Receptor Alpha Chain Antibody target CD123 is also studied extensively in hematologic malignancies, particularly myeloid neoplasms in which altered or elevated receptor expression can occur. Its cell-surface localization and role in cytokine responsiveness make IL3RA relevant to research examining normal hematopoiesis, immune-cell development, and malignant hematopoietic populations.
Clone IL3RA/1822 is a mouse monoclonal antibody generated against a recombinant fragment corresponding to approximately amino acids 26-171 of human IL3RA. As an Interleukin-3 Receptor Alpha Chain Antibody, clone IL3RA/1822 provides a defined monoclonal reagent for investigating CD123 and its relationship to hematopoietic and immune-cell biology.
