Interleukin 17F Antibody recognizes IL-17F, a member of the IL-17 cytokine family that contributes to innate and adaptive immune responses by promoting inflammatory signaling at epithelial and mucosal surfaces. Produced primarily by T helper 17 (Th17) cells, IL-17F is also expressed by gamma delta T cells, innate lymphoid cells, mast cells, and other activated immune cell populations. Following secretion, IL-17F binds the IL17RA/IL17RC receptor complex to activate NF-kappaB and MAPK signaling pathways, stimulating production of cytokines, chemokines, and antimicrobial peptides that recruit neutrophils and strengthen host defense against extracellular bacterial and fungal pathogens.
Although structurally related to IL-17A, IL-17F displays unique biological activity and can function as either a homodimer or an IL-17A/IL-17F heterodimer. Dysregulated IL-17F expression has been associated with numerous chronic inflammatory disorders, including psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Because of its important role in sustaining inflammatory responses, Interleukin 17F Antibody is widely used to investigate cytokine biology, immune regulation, and mechanisms underlying autoimmune disease.
IL-17F also contributes to communication between immune cells and the tissue microenvironment. Depending on the biological context, IL-17F can influence angiogenesis, extracellular matrix remodeling, and recruitment of inflammatory cells within tumors and sites of chronic inflammation. These diverse activities have generated increasing interest in IL-17F as both a disease biomarker and a potential therapeutic target. Consequently, Interleukin 17F Antibody has become an important research tool for studies of inflammation, mucosal immunity, infectious disease, and cancer biology.
