IL17B Antibody recognizes Interleukin 17B, a member of the IL17 cytokine family that functions as a regulator of inflammatory responses, innate immunity, and tissue homeostasis. IL17B is a secreted cytokine that signals primarily through the IL17RB receptor and activates downstream pathways including NF kappa B, mitogen activated protein kinase, and inflammatory transcription factors. Although less extensively studied than IL17A, IL17B has emerged as an important mediator of cytokine networks that influence immune cell recruitment, epithelial cell function, and responses to tissue injury. IL17B is expressed in a variety of tissues, including the gastrointestinal tract, nervous system, pancreas, and inflammatory cells, where it contributes to local and systemic immune regulation.

IL17B participates in the production of pro inflammatory cytokines and chemokines and modulates communication between immune cells and epithelial tissues. Through activation of IL17RB dependent signaling, IL17B influences innate immune responses and contributes to host defense mechanisms. The IL17B signaling axis has been implicated in maintaining epithelial barrier integrity and regulating cellular responses to environmental stress and inflammation. Interactions with other cytokines further amplify inflammatory cascades and coordinate immune responses in diverse tissues.

Altered IL17B expression has been associated with autoimmune diseases, chronic inflammatory disorders, metabolic disease, and cancer. Increased IL17B signaling has been reported in breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, gastric cancer, and other malignancies, where it may promote tumor cell survival, migration, and resistance to therapy.
