IL10 Antibody AOIG-9 recognizes interleukin 10 (IL-10), a secreted cytokine encoded by the IL10 gene. IL-10 is an important regulator of immune homeostasis that helps limit excessive inflammatory responses and immune-mediated tissue damage. Originally described as cytokine synthesis inhibitory factor, IL-10 can suppress production of several pro-inflammatory mediators while influencing antigen presentation and the activation and differentiation of immune cells.
IL-10 exerts its biological effects through a receptor complex composed of IL10RA and IL10RB subunits. Ligand binding activates the receptor-associated kinases JAK1 and TYK2, resulting in phosphorylation and activation of STAT3. STAT3-dependent transcription induces regulatory genes that help restrain inflammatory signaling and modulate immune-cell responses. Through this pathway, IL-10 provides an important feedback mechanism for controlling the intensity and duration of inflammation.
IL-10 is produced by multiple immune-cell populations, including regulatory and conventional T cells, B cells, monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. Its biological activity can affect both innate and adaptive immunity, and its function depends strongly on cellular and disease context. Altered IL-10 expression or signaling is studied in inflammatory and autoimmune disorders, infectious disease, cancer, and mechanisms of immune tolerance. IL10 Antibody reagents are therefore useful for investigating the balance between immune activation and immunoregulatory signaling.
Clone AOIG-9 is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody generated against a synthetic peptide derived from human interleukin-10. The recombinant monoclonal format provides a defined antibody reagent for studies of IL-10 expression. This Interleukin-10 Monoclonal Antibody is supplied by NSJ Bioreagents for research use only.
