IHH antibody targets Indian hedgehog protein, encoded by the IHH gene. Indian hedgehog protein is a secreted developmental regulator that coordinates intercellular communication through hedgehog pathway signaling. It plays an essential role in orchestrating growth and differentiation during embryonic development and tissue maturation.
Functionally, Indian hedgehog protein links cellular position to downstream transcriptional responses. Activation of hedgehog signaling by IHH influences gene expression programs that govern cell cycle progression and lineage commitment.
