SDS-PAGE analysis of 2 ug of purified Insulin-Like Growth Factor 1 Antibody, clone IGF1/1020, under non-reducing (NR) and reducing (R) conditions. The non-reduced antibody migrates predominantly near 150 kDa. Following reduction, prominent bands corresponding to the antibody heavy and light chains are visible at approximately 50 kDa and 25 kDa, respectively. The observed banding pattern supports the integrity and purity of the monoclonal IGF-1 Protein Antibody preparation.

Insulin-Like Growth Factor 1 Antibody IGF1/1020 / IGF-1 Protein Antibody recognizes insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF1), a secreted polypeptide growth factor structurally related to insulin. Also historically known as Somatomedin C, IGF1 participates in the regulation of somatic growth, cellular proliferation, differentiation, survival, and metabolic homeostasis. Its production is influenced by growth hormone, providing an important molecular connection between endocrine growth signals and their effects on peripheral tissues.

IGF1 signals primarily through the insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF1R), a receptor tyrosine kinase that activates intracellular pathways including PI3K-AKT and RAS-MAPK. These signaling networks regulate processes such as protein synthesis, cell-cycle progression, metabolism, and resistance to apoptosis. The biological availability and activity of IGF1 are additionally influenced by insulin-like growth factor binding proteins, which modulate its stability, distribution, and interaction with receptors.

The IGF1 signaling system is widely investigated in growth and developmental biology, metabolism, aging, and cancer research. Alterations in IGF1 production or signaling can affect normal growth, while increased activity of the IGF1-IGF1R axis has been studied in relation to tumor-cell proliferation, survival, and resistance to apoptosis.
