ICAM3 Antibody ICAM3/1019 / Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 3 Antibody recognizes ICAM3, a cell-surface glycoprotein also known as CD50. ICAM3 belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily of adhesion molecules and contains five extracellular immunoglobulin-like domains, a transmembrane region, and a short cytoplasmic domain. Extensive N-linked glycosylation contributes to a mature apparent molecular weight substantially greater than that predicted from the amino acid sequence.
ICAM3 is expressed prominently by leukocytes and is particularly associated with lymphocytes and other cells of the immune system. In contrast to ICAM1, whose expression can be strongly induced on numerous cell types during inflammatory responses, ICAM3 is constitutively present at relatively high levels on resting leukocytes. This expression pattern supports a role for ICAM3 in the initial contacts and adhesive interactions that occur between immune cells.
Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 3 is a major ligand for lymphocyte function-associated antigen 1 (LFA-1), an integrin composed of CD11a and CD18. Interaction between ICAM3 and LFA-1 contributes to leukocyte adhesion and the formation of contacts between lymphocytes and other immune cells. ICAM3 has also been investigated for its contribution to signaling events that regulate cellular adhesiveness, immune-cell clustering, and lymphocyte activation. Through these functions, the protein is relevant to studies of immune responses, inflammation, leukocyte trafficking, and cell-cell adhesion.
Clone ICAM3/1019 is a mouse monoclonal antibody generated against recombinant human ICAM3 protein. The clone provides a distinct conventional monoclonal option within the NSJ Bioreagents ICAM3 antibody portfolio. Research into CD50 and its interactions with leukocyte integrins can help characterize mechanisms controlling immune-cell recognition, adhesion, and communication.
An ICAM3 Antibody can support research into ICAM3/CD50 expression and the molecular mechanisms governing leukocyte adhesion and immune-cell interactions.
For a recombinant monoclonal option with additional validation data, see our CD50 Antibody rICAM3/1019 / LFA-1 Ligand CD50 Antibody page.
Optimal dilution of the ICAM3 Antibody ICAM3/1019 / Intercellular Adhesion Molecule 3 Antibody should be determined by the researcher.
1. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM Citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min
2. The prediluted format is supplied in a dropper bottle and is optimized for use in IHC. After epitope retrieval step (if required), drip mAb solution onto the tissue section and incubate at RT for 30 min.
Recombinant human protein was used as the immunogen for the ICAM3 Antibody ICAM3/1019.
Store the ICAM3 Antibody ICAM3/1019 at 2-8oC (with azide) or aliquot and store at -20oC or colder (without azide).
