Purified ICAM1 Antibody 15.2 SDS-PAGE. SDS-PAGE analysis of 2 ug purified, BSA-free ICAM1 Antibody clone 15.2 under reduced (R) and non-reduced (NR) conditions demonstrates the integrity of the mouse monoclonal antibody preparation. ICAM1 Antibody 15.2 / CD54 Antibody 15.2 recognizes intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM1), a cell-surface glycoprotein and member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. Also known as ICAM-1 and CD54, ICAM1 contains five extracellular immunoglobulin-like domains and functions as an important mediator of cell-cell adhesion. Its interactions with leukocytes, endothelial cells, and other cell types contribute to immune surveillance, inflammatory responses, and cellular communication.

ICAM1 binds the leukocyte integrins LFA-1, composed of CD11a and CD18, and Mac-1, composed of CD11b and CD18. These interactions promote firm leukocyte adhesion and contribute to migration of immune cells across vascular endothelium. ICAM1-LFA-1 binding can also stabilize interactions between lymphocytes and antigen-presenting cells, supporting antigen-specific immune responses. ICAM1 additionally interacts with other cellular and microbial ligands, reflecting the diverse biological roles of its extracellular domains.

Expression of ICAM1 can increase substantially following exposure to inflammatory cytokines and other stimuli. This inducible expression facilitates leukocyte recruitment to sites of inflammation and has made ICAM1 an important target in studies of immune activation, vascular biology, inflammatory disease, and cancer. ICAM1 also serves as a receptor for major-group human rhinoviruses and has been investigated in additional host-pathogen interactions.

ICAM1 is extensively N-glycosylated, with mature protein commonly detected at approximately 85-115 kDa depending on cell type and glycosylation state. Clone 15.2 is a mouse monoclonal antibody generated using human monocytes as the immunogen. The clone has a substantial history of use in the scientific literature, with more than 100 publications associated with clone 15.2 across external antibody catalogs.
