Hydroxysteroid 17-beta Dehydrogenase 13 Antibody HSD17B13/13108 Protein Microarray Validation. Protein microarray analysis of Hydroxysteroid 17-beta Dehydrogenase 13 Antibody, clone HSD17B13/13108, using a HuProt array containing more than 19,000 full-length human proteins. The intended HSD17B13 target produced the dominant signal, with a Z-score of 18.25 and an S-score of 18.17. The Z-score measures signal strength in standard deviations above the array mean, while the S-score measures the separation between the intended target and the next-highest protein signal. These results provide proteome-scale evidence supporting the target selectivity of this Protein Microarray Validated monoclonal antibody.
Hydroxysteroid 17-beta Dehydrogenase 13 Antibody Staining of Human Hepatocellular Carcinoma IHC. Immunohistochemistry of FFPE human hepatocellular carcinoma tissue using Hydroxysteroid 17-beta Dehydrogenase 13 Antibody, clone HSD17B13/13108. HIER was performed by boiling tissue sections in pH 9 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA for 20 min followed by cooling before staining. Brown cytoplasmic immunoreactivity is visible throughout the tumor tissue. The inset shows the secondary antibody negative control, with PBS substituted for the primary antibody.
Purified Hydroxysteroid 17-beta Dehydrogenase 13 Antibody HSD17B13/13108 SDS-PAGE. SDS-PAGE analysis of purified, BSA-free Hydroxysteroid 17-beta Dehydrogenase 13 Antibody, clone HSD17B13/13108, with 2 ug loaded under non-reducing (NR) and reducing (R) conditions. The intact antibody migrates predominantly near 150 kDa under non-reducing conditions. Following reduction, the predominant heavy-chain band is visible near 50 kDa; the light-chain region is faint at approximately 25 kDa. The observed banding pattern supports the integrity and purity of the monoclonal antibody preparation.

Description

Hydroxysteroid 17-beta Dehydrogenase 13 Antibody HSD17B13/13108 recognizes hydroxysteroid 17-beta dehydrogenase 13 (HSD17B13), a lipid droplet-associated protein that is highly enriched in the liver. HSD17B13 belongs to the short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase protein family and is also known as SCDR9 and DHB13. Its association with hepatic lipid droplets has linked the protein to lipid storage, metabolic regulation, and hepatocellular physiology.

HSD17B13 has enzymatic activity toward lipid-related substrates and has attracted considerable attention for its relationship with metabolic liver disease. Expression of the protein is associated with hepatic lipid metabolism, while human genetic studies have identified loss-of-function HSD17B13 variants associated with reduced risk of progression to more severe chronic liver disease. These findings have connected HSD17B13 biology with steatotic liver disease, steatohepatitis, fibrosis, cirrhosis, and other processes involving progressive liver injury.

As a member of the short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase family, HSD17B13 belongs to a broader group of enzymes involved in oxidation-reduction reactions with diverse biological substrates. Its liver-enriched expression and lipid droplet localization distinguish HSD17B13 as an important target for investigating relationships among lipid metabolism, hepatocyte biology, and liver disease. The association of naturally occurring loss-of-function variants with protection from progressive liver injury has also generated interest in HSD17B13 as a potential therapeutic target.

Clone HSD17B13/13108 is a mouse monoclonal antibody generated using a portion of amino acids 1-200 of the human protein as the immunogen. This HSD17B13 Protein Antibody is Protein Microarray Validated using a HuProt array containing more than 19,000 full-length human proteins, providing proteome-scale evidence supporting target selectivity. NSJ Bioreagents offers clone HSD17B13/13108 for researchers investigating HSD17B13 expression, hepatic lipid metabolism, and liver biology. A Hydroxysteroid 17-beta Dehydrogenase 13 Antibody provides a clone-defined reagent for studying this lipid droplet-associated metabolic protein.

For an HSD17B13 antibody with additional western blot, flow cytometry, and multi-species validation, see our HSD17B13 Antibody / SCDR9 Antibody page.
