Hydroxysteroid 17-beta Dehydrogenase 13 Antibody HSD17B13/13108 Microarray Validation. Protein microarray analysis of Hydroxysteroid 17-beta Dehydrogenase 13 Antibody, clone HSD17B13/13108, using a HuProt array containing more than 19,000 full-length human proteins. The intended HSD17B13 target produced the dominant signal, with a Z-score of 18.25 and an S-score of 18.17. The Z-score measures signal strength in standard deviations above the array mean, while the S-score measures the separation between the intended target and the next-highest protein signal. The exceptionally high S-score provides proteome-scale evidence supporting the target selectivity of this Protein Microarray Validated antibody.
Hydroxysteroid 17-beta Dehydrogenase 13 Antibody HSD17B13/13108 Staining of Human Hepatocellular Carcinoma IHC. Immunohistochemistry of FFPE human hepatocellular carcinoma tissue using Hydroxysteroid 17-beta Dehydrogenase 13 Antibody, clone HSD17B13/13108. HIER was performed by boiling tissue sections in pH 9 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA for 20 min followed by cooling before staining. Prominent granular brown cytoplasmic immunoreactivity is visible throughout the tumor cells. The inset shows the PBS secondary antibody negative control, supporting detection of HSD17B13 under the tested conditions.
Purified Hydroxysteroid 17-beta Dehydrogenase 13 Antibody HSD17B13/13108 SDS-PAGE. SDS-PAGE analysis of purified, BSA-free Hydroxysteroid 17-beta Dehydrogenase 13 Antibody, clone HSD17B13/13108, with 2 ug loaded under non-reducing (NR) and reducing (R) conditions. The intact antibody migrates predominantly near 150 kDa under non-reducing conditions. Under reducing conditions, bands corresponding to the antibody heavy and light chains are visible at approximately 50 kDa and 25 kDa, respectively. The observed banding pattern supports the integrity and purity of the monoclonal antibody preparation.

Description

Hydroxysteroid 17-beta Dehydrogenase 13 Antibody HSD17B13/13108 / Protein Microarray Validated recognizes HSD17B13, a member of the short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase protein family associated with hepatic lipid metabolism. HSD17B13 is highly enriched in the liver and localizes prominently to intracellular lipid droplets, organelles involved in the storage and mobilization of neutral lipids. Its tissue distribution and lipid droplet association have made HSD17B13 an important target for investigating hepatic metabolism and metabolic liver biology.

HSD17B13 contains structural characteristics associated with short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase enzymes and has been investigated for enzymatic activity involving lipid-related substrates. Its association with lipid droplets places the protein at an interface between intracellular lipid storage and metabolic regulation. Changes in HSD17B13 abundance or activity may therefore influence hepatic lipid handling and cellular responses to metabolic stress.

HSD17B13 has attracted substantial research interest because human genetic studies have associated certain loss-of-function variants with reduced progression of chronic liver disease. These findings have connected HSD17B13 with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease, hepatic inflammation, fibrosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma risk. Understanding the expression and biological activity of HSD17B13 may therefore help clarify mechanisms linking hepatic lipid metabolism with liver injury and disease progression.

Clone HSD17B13/13108 is a mouse monoclonal antibody generated against a portion of amino acids 1-200 of human HSD17B13. This Hydroxysteroid 17-beta Dehydrogenase 13 Antibody is Protein Microarray Validated using a HuProt array containing more than 19,000 full-length human proteins. NSJ Bioreagents offers this reagent for researchers investigating HSD17B13 expression, hepatic lipid metabolism, and lipid droplet biology. A Hydroxysteroid 17-beta Dehydrogenase 13 Antibody provides a clone-defined reagent for studying this liver-associated metabolic protein.

For an HSD17B13 antibody with additional western blot, flow cytometry, and multi-species validation, see our HSD17B13 Antibody / SCDR9 Antibody page.
