Description

HLA-DQA1 Antibody ACEC-8 / MHC Class II DQ Alpha Antibody targets HLA-DQA1, which encodes an alpha-chain component of the human HLA-DQ major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II molecule. HLA-DQ functions in adaptive immunity by presenting processed antigenic peptides to CD4-positive T lymphocytes. The HLA-DQA1 protein associates with an HLA-DQB beta chain to form a heterodimeric HLA-DQ complex, with both chains contributing to the peptide-binding region responsible for antigen presentation.

HLA-DQA1 is located within the highly polymorphic MHC region on chromosome 6. Sequence variation within HLA-DQA1, together with polymorphism of its partnering HLA-DQB genes, generates structurally diverse HLA-DQ molecules with different peptide-binding properties. The resulting alpha/beta combinations influence which antigenic peptides can be efficiently presented to T cells and contribute to substantial interindividual variation in adaptive immune recognition.

Functional HLA-DQ complexes participate in the MHC class II antigen-processing pathway. Proteins internalized by antigen-presenting cells are degraded within intracellular compartments, allowing selected peptides to associate with class II molecules. Peptide-loaded HLA-DQ heterodimers are subsequently transported to the plasma membrane, where they can be surveyed by CD4-positive T lymphocytes. This process contributes to immune surveillance, helper T cell activation and regulation of antigen-specific immune responses.

HLA-DQA1 has particular importance in immunogenetics because specific combinations of HLA-DQA1 and HLA-DQB1 alleles are associated with differences in disease susceptibility and antigen recognition. HLA-DQA1 Antibody reagents provide a chain-focused approach to investigating the HLA-DQ system, complementing antibodies that recognize the assembled HLA-DQ antigen or broader MHC class II determinants. HLA-DQA1 is relevant to research involving antigen presentation, autoimmunity, transplantation, infectious disease and adaptive immune regulation.

Clone ACEC-8 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody directed against human HLA-DQA1. NSJ Bioreagents provides this HLA-DQA1 Antibody for research into HLA-DQ alpha-chain biology and MHC class II antigen presentation. An MHC Class II DQ Alpha Antibody can support investigation of the HLA-DQA1 component of HLA-DQ and its contribution to peptide presentation and CD4 T cell-mediated immune recognition.
