Description

TFII-I Antibody / GTF2I Transcription Factor Antibody recognizes GTF2I, a multifunctional DNA-binding transcriptional regulator commonly known as TFII-I. GTF2I participates in RNA polymerase II-dependent gene regulation and can interact with both promoter elements and signal-responsive transcriptional machinery. The protein therefore provides a molecular connection between transcriptional control and cellular signaling pathways that influence gene expression.

GTF2I can bind promoter elements including pyrimidine-rich initiator sequences and E-box motifs and functions as a transcriptional coregulator in multiple contexts. It participates in formation of regulatory complexes at the C-FOS promoter and can cooperate with serum response factor-associated proteins to influence signal-responsive transcription. GTF2I has also been described as BAP135 because of its association with Bruton's tyrosine kinase, further reflecting its relationship with signaling-dependent transcriptional regulation.

Beyond these activities, GTF2I contributes to transcriptional complexes involved in cellular differentiation and gene regulation. It participates in formation of functional ARID3A DNA-binding complexes and has been implicated in activation of immunoglobulin heavy-chain transcription following B-lymphocyte activation. GTF2I is consequently studied in research involving transcription factor biology, promoter regulation, signal-responsive gene expression and developmental mechanisms.

Clone PCRP-GTF2I-1A7 is a mouse monoclonal antibody generated against recombinant human GTF2I protein and purified by Protein A/G affinity chromatography. The antibody has been evaluated on a HuProt protein microarray containing more than 19,000 full-length human proteins.
