GSTM2 Antibody in Human HeLa Cervical Cancer Cells IF. Immunofluorescence testing of GSTM2 Antibody / Glutathione S-Transferase Mu 2 Antibody in fixed and permeabilized human HeLa cervical cancer cells. GSTM2 antibody staining is shown in green and nuclei were counterstained with RedDot nuclear stain in red. This GSTM2 Antibody demonstrates cytoplasmic detection of glutathione S-transferase Mu 2 in human HeLa cells.
GSTM2 Antibody in Human Placenta IHC. Immunohistochemistry testing of GSTM2 Antibody / Glutathione S-Transferase Mu 2 Antibody in FFPE human placental tissue. Heat-induced epitope retrieval was performed by boiling tissue sections in 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6, for 10-20 min followed by cooling prior to staining. This GSTM2 Antibody demonstrates detection of glutathione S-transferase Mu 2 in human placenta.
GSTM2 Antibody in Human Liver WB. Western blot testing of GSTM2 Antibody / Glutathione S-Transferase Mu 2 Antibody in human liver tissue lysate. A prominent band is detected at approximately 26 kDa, consistent with the expected molecular weight of GSTM2. This GSTM2 Antibody demonstrates detection of glutathione S-transferase Mu 2 in human liver tissue.
GSTM2 Antibody in Human HeLa Cervical Cancer Cells FACS. Flow cytometry testing of GSTM2 Antibody / Glutathione S-Transferase Mu 2 Antibody in PFA-fixed human HeLa cervical cancer cells. Description

GSTM2 Antibody / Glutathione S-Transferase Mu 2 Antibody recognizes GSTM2, a cytosolic enzyme belonging to the mu class of glutathione S-transferases. GSTM2 participates in cellular detoxification by catalyzing the conjugation of reduced glutathione to electrophilic compounds. Through this activity, the enzyme helps protect cells from reactive products generated by oxidative stress as well as environmental toxins, carcinogens and other xenobiotic compounds.

GSTM2 is one of several closely related mu class GST enzymes encoded by a gene cluster on chromosome 1. Members of this family contribute to glutathione-dependent metabolism and cellular defense against potentially damaging chemical compounds. GSTM2 is particularly associated with muscle and has historically been referred to as GST muscle. The protein is consequently relevant to research involving muscle biology in addition to oxidative stress, xenobiotic metabolism and cellular detoxification.

Mu class glutathione S-transferases are highly polymorphic, and genetic variation within this family can influence the metabolism of environmental chemicals and therapeutic compounds. GST enzymes have therefore been widely investigated in toxicology, pharmacology and cancer research. Changes in GST activity or expression can alter cellular exposure to electrophilic compounds and products of oxidative stress, potentially affecting susceptibility to cellular damage and disease.

Clone CPTC-GSTMu2-2 is a mouse monoclonal antibody generated against full-length recombinant human GSTM2 and purified by Protein G affinity chromatography. NSJ Bioreagents provides this GSTM2 Antibody for research into GSTM2 biology, glutathione-dependent detoxification and cellular defense mechanisms. A Glutathione S-Transferase Mu 2 Antibody can support investigation of this mu class enzyme and its roles in xenobiotic metabolism, oxidative stress and muscle-associated biology.

Application Notes

Optimal dilution of the GSTM2 Antibody / Glutathione S-Transferase Mu 2 Antibody should be determined by the researcher.

1. The prediluted format is supplied in a dropper bottle and is optimized for use in IHC. After epitope retrieval step (if required), drip mAb solution onto the tissue section and incubate at RT for 30 min.

Immunogen

Full length recombinant human protein was used as the immunogen for this GSTM2 antibody.

Storage

Store the GSTM2 antibody at 2-8oC (with azide) or aliquot and store at -20oC or colder (without azide).

Alternate Names

GSTM2 antibody, Glutathione S-Transferase Mu 2 antibody, GST Mu 2 antibody, GST muscle antibody
