Transcription factor GATA-5, also named GATAS, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the GATA5 gene. It is mapped to 20q13.33. The protein encoded by this gene is a transcription factor that contains two GATA-type zinc fingers. The encoded protein is known to bind to hepatocyte nuclear factor-1alpha (HNF-1alpha), and this interaction is essential for cooperative activation of the intestinal lactase-phlorizin hydrolase promoter. In other organisms, similar proteins may be involved in the establishment of cardiac smooth muscle cell diversity. In addition, the expression of GATA5 increased in a human colon cancer cell line within two hours of exposure to sodium butyrate, which induces differentiation.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting amounts. Titration of the GATA5 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
Human partial recombinant protein (AA 1-397) was used as the immunogen for this GATA5 antibody.
After reconstitution, the GATA5 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
