GAS6, or Growth arrest-specific 6, is a secreted protein that plays a critical role in cell survival, proliferation, and immune regulation. It is part of the vitamin K-dependent protein family and functions primarily as a ligand for the TAM family of receptor tyrosine kinases, including AXL, MER, and TYRO3. Through these interactions, GAS6 modulates diverse physiological processes such as hemostasis, inflammation resolution, and clearance of apoptotic cells.
GAS6 is expressed in a variety of tissues, including endothelial cells, immune cells, and vascular smooth muscle. Its expression is typically upregulated in response to cellular stress or growth arrest, which is reflected in its name. Dysregulation of GAS6 signaling has been linked to pathological conditions such as cancer, fibrosis, and autoimmune disorders.
Multiple isoforms of GAS6 have been identified through alternative splicing. These isoforms may vary in receptor affinity and biological function, which highlights the importance of using a validated GAS6 antibody that can distinguish between different isoforms in experimental applications.
The GAS6 antibody is a critical tool for detecting and studying the expression of GAS6 in research involving oncology, immunology, and vascular biology. Researchers commonly use the GAS6 antibody in applications such as western blot, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry to investigate the role of GAS6 in cellular signaling pathways. A high-quality GAS6 antibody ensures reliable detection of both full-length and isoform-specific variants of the protein.
NSJ Bioreagents offers a selection of GAS6 antibody products designed to meet the needs of investigators studying the role of GAS6 in health and disease.
Optimal dilution of the GAS6 antibody should be determined by the researcher.
Amino acids M488-S660 from the human protein were used as the immunogen for the GAS6 antibody.
After reconstitution, the GAS6 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
