Galectin 1 Antibody Rat Pancreas WB. Western blot analysis of rat pancreas tissue lysate using Galectin 1 antibody at 0.5 ug/ml. A distinct immunoreactive band is detected at approximately 15 kDa, consistent with the predicted and observed molecular weight of Galectin-1 (LGALS1). Galectin-1 is a beta-galactoside-binding lectin involved in immune regulation, cell adhesion, apoptosis, extracellular matrix interactions, and glycan-mediated signaling pathways. The clean banding pattern supports specific detection of endogenous Galectin-1 in rat pancreatic tissue and demonstrates the utility of this antibody for western blot applications. Predicted/observed molecular weight: ~15 kDa.

Description

Galectin 1 Antibody recognizes Galectin-1 (LGALS1), a member of the galectin family of beta-galactoside-binding lectins that regulates cell adhesion, migration, proliferation, apoptosis, immune homeostasis, and extracellular matrix interactions. Galectin-1 is broadly expressed in epithelial, endothelial, stromal, and immune cell populations where it functions as an important mediator of cellular communication and glycan-dependent signaling pathways. Through interactions with glycosylated receptors and extracellular matrix components, Galectin-1 influences tissue remodeling, inflammatory responses, angiogenesis, and cellular differentiation.

Galectin 1 Antibody is widely used for investigating the role of LGALS1 in immune regulation and disease pathogenesis. Galectin-1 contributes to immune tolerance, modulation of inflammatory signaling, and regulation of T-cell activation and survival. Expression of LGALS1 has been associated with numerous physiological and pathological processes, including autoimmune disorders, infection, wound healing, and tissue repair. These diverse biological functions have made Galectin-1 an important research target in immunology and inflammation studies.

Galectin 1 Antibody is also extensively utilized in oncology research. Elevated Galectin-1 expression has been reported in a variety of solid tumors and hematologic malignancies, where it may contribute to tumor progression, immune evasion, angiogenesis, and metastatic dissemination. The involvement of LGALS1 in tumor-stromal communication and microenvironment remodeling has generated significant interest in its potential utility as a biomarker and therapeutic target. Consequently, Galectin-1 remains a valuable marker for investigations involving cancer biology, angiogenesis, immune regulation, and translational research applications.
