Western blot testing of GAB1 antibody: Wild-type (+/+) and GAB1-/- (-/-) cells were heat shocked (HS) at 42oC for 1 h or irradiated with UV-B light (400 J/m2) and then incubated at 37oC for 1 h. IP was done with an anti-JNK2 Ab and immunoprecipitates tested with GAB1 antibody.

Rescue of the JNK pathway by expression of wild-type GAB1 in GAB1-/- cells. GAB1-/- cells were transiently transfected with human GAB1 cDNA. After incubation, the cells were irradiated or left untreated. Exogenous expression in transfected cells was confirmed by GAB1 antibody.

Description

GRB2-associated-binding protein 1 is a member of the IRS1-like multisubstrate docking protein family. It is an important mediator of branching tubulogenesis and plays a central role in cellular growth response, transformation and apoptosis. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Application Notes

Titration of the GAB1 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.

Immunogen

This GAB1 antibody was produced from mice immunized with a GST fusion protein encoding full length human GAB1.

Storage

Aliquot the GAB1 antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
