Follistatin Antibody / TGF Beta Signaling Regulator recognizes follistatin (FST), a secreted glycoprotein that regulates transforming growth factor beta superfamily signaling through high-affinity binding to activins and selected bone morphogenetic proteins. By limiting ligand availability, follistatin modulates pathways controlling embryonic development, tissue differentiation, muscle growth, reproductive physiology, and tissue repair. As a key extracellular regulator of transforming growth factor beta signaling, follistatin maintains the balance between growth-promoting and inhibitory signals across numerous tissues. Follistatin Antibody / TGF Beta Signaling Regulator is widely used to investigate developmental signaling, regenerative biology, and growth factor regulation.
Follistatin is expressed in many adult and embryonic tissues where it functions as an endogenous antagonist of activin signaling.
