Fibroblast growth factor 23, or FGF23, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the FGF23 gene. This gene encodes a member of the fibroblast growth factor family of proteins, which possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities and are involved in a variety of biological processes. The product of this gene regulates phosphate homeostasis and transport in the kidney. The full-length, functional protein may be deactivated via cleavage into N-terminal and C-terminal chains. Mutation of this cleavage site causes autosomal dominant hypophosphatemic rickets (ADHR). Mutations in this gene are also associated with hyperphosphatemic familial tumoral calcinosis (HFTC).
Optimal dilution of the FGF23 antibody should be determined by the researcher.
Amino acids Y25-V251 from the rat protein were used as the immunogen for the FGF23 antibody.
After reconstitution, the FGF23 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
