EPHA3 Antibody Detection in CHO Cells WB. Western blot analysis of hamster CHO cell lysate using EPHA3 Antibody. A distinct immunoreactive band is detected at approximately 65-70 kDa, consistent with the predicted approximately 61 kDa molecular weight of EPHA3 isoform 2. EPHA3 isoform 1 has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 110 kDa.
EPHA3 Antibody Detection in EPHA3-Transfected 293 Cells WB. Western blot analysis of human 293 cell lysates using EPHA3 Antibody. Lane 1 contains nontransfected cells and lane 2 contains cells transiently transfected with the EPHA3 gene. A strong band at approximately 115-120 kDa is detected in the EPHA3-transfected sample but not in the nontransfected control, consistent with the predicted approximately 110 kDa molecular weight of EPHA3 isoform 1.
EPHA3 Antibody Staining of Human Placenta IHC. Immunohistochemistry analysis of FFPE human placenta tissue using EPHA3 Antibody. Brown immunoreactivity is visible in placental villous structures, with prominent staining associated with trophoblast regions and comparatively limited staining in the surrounding stromal areas.

Description

EPHA3 Antibody / Ephrin Type-A Receptor 3 Antibody detects EPHA3, a transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the EphA subgroup of Eph receptors. EPHA3 interacts primarily with membrane-associated ephrin-A ligands, creating a contact-dependent signaling system between neighboring cells. These interactions help regulate cell positioning, adhesion, migration and the formation of boundaries between developing cell populations.

EPHA3 contains an extracellular ephrin-binding region, a single transmembrane segment and an intracellular protein tyrosine kinase domain. Ephrin binding promotes receptor clustering and phosphorylation, activating signaling that influences cytoskeletal organization and cellular movement. EphA/ephrin-A interactions are particularly associated with guidance and repulsive responses that help cells interpret positional information within developing tissues.

EPHA3 signaling has important roles in developmental biology, including nervous system organization, axon guidance and cardiovascular development. Through its effects on cell-cell interactions and migration, Ephrin Type-A Receptor 3 also contributes to the organization of tissues and establishment of appropriate cellular boundaries. An Ephrin Type-A Receptor 3 Antibody can therefore support studies examining the molecular mechanisms connecting extracellular guidance cues with changes in cell behavior.

Altered EPHA3 expression and signaling are also studied in cancer, where disruption of normal Eph/ephrin communication can affect tumor-cell positioning, adhesion, migration and interactions with the surrounding microenvironment. EPHA3 has attracted additional interest as a tumor-associated receptor and potential therapeutic target in several malignancies.
