DZIP1 Antibody by IHC in rat testis. Immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded rat testis using Cilium assembly protein DZIP1 Antibody reveals brown staining in the seminiferous tubules, including germinal epithelial cells. Sections underwent heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0), blocking with goat serum, and primary antibody incubation at 2 ug/mL overnight at 4oC. Bound antibody was detected using an HRP-conjugated secondary antibody and DAB chromogen.
DZIP1 Antibody by WB in human and rodent samples. Western blot analysis using Cilium assembly protein DZIP1 Antibody detects a prominent immunoreactive band near 113 kDa in human HEL (lane 1), SH-SY5Y (lane 2), 293T (lane 3), rat testis (lane 4), and mouse testis (lane 5). The observed migration is compared with the calculated molecular weight of approximately 99 kDa. Reduced lysates containing 30 ug protein per lane were separated by 8% SDS-PAGE and transferred to nitrocellulose. After blocking with 5% nonfat milk, the membrane was incubated with primary antibody at 0.5 ug/mL overnight at 4oC, followed by HRP-conjugated secondary antibody and chemiluminescent detection.
DZIP1 Antibody by IHC in human colon carcinoma. Immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded human colon carcinoma using Cilium assembly protein DZIP1 Antibody reveals heterogeneous brown cytoplasmic and perinuclear staining in malignant glandular epithelium.
DZIP1 Antibody by IHC in human testicular carcinoma. Immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded human testicular carcinoma using Cilium assembly protein DZIP1 Antibody reveals brown immunoreactivity in scattered tumor cells.

Description

DZIP1 Antibody / Cilium assembly protein DZIP1 Antibody detects DZIP1, also called cilium assembly protein DZIP1, a protein involved in the formation and function of primary cilia. Primary cilia are microtubule-based projections that organize signaling pathways at the cell surface. Their assembly requires coordinated activity at the mother centriole, where a basal body anchors the developing axoneme. DZIP1 has been implicated in events linking centriolar structures to the recruitment and organization of proteins needed for ciliogenesis.

Ciliary assembly depends on membrane docking, distal appendage function, and regulated trafficking of proteins into the ciliary compartment. DZIP1 has been studied alongside other centrosomal and ciliary regulators that help establish the conditions for axoneme growth. Its activity is particularly relevant to the formation of a signaling-competent cilium, not simply to the presence of microtubules. Defects in early assembly steps can disrupt the localization of receptors and signaling proteins that normally concentrate within the ciliary membrane. The designation Cilium assembly protein DZIP1 Antibody refers to the same gene product.

One major pathway organized through primary cilia is Hedgehog signaling, which contributes to embryonic patterning and tissue maintenance. Experimental work has connected DZIP1 with Hedgehog pathway regulation, although specific interactions can depend on developmental context and organism. The relationship between ciliogenesis and signaling is bidirectional: altered ciliary architecture can change pathway output, while developmental cues influence ciliary dynamics. NSJ Bioreagents includes DZIP1 among proteins involved in centrosome-associated assembly, primary cilium formation, and the spatial organization of developmental signaling. A DZIP1 Antibody can help contextualize the molecular functions and regulation of this protein.
