DNAJB4 Antibody / DnaJ homolog subfamily B member 4 Antibody detects DNAJB4, also known as HLJ1, a member of the Hsp40 co-chaperone family. DNAJB4 contains a conserved J domain that enables functional cooperation with Hsp70 proteins during protein folding and quality control. Hsp40 proteins help recruit client polypeptides and stimulate the ATPase cycle of Hsp70 chaperones, supporting the recognition and handling of proteins that have not reached their native conformations. DNAJB4 is distinct from other DNAJ family members in its regulatory features and cellular functions.
Protein homeostasis requires coordinated control of folding, trafficking, and degradation. When proteins misfold or become damaged, chaperone networks can promote refolding or direct them toward clearance pathways. DNAJB4 participates in this broader proteostasis environment and has been investigated for its influence on cytoskeletal and signaling proteins. Its activity depends on interaction with chaperone partners rather than an independent catalytic protein-folding mechanism. The balance between synthesis, folding, and degradation is particularly important in cells exposed to environmental or metabolic stress. The DnaJ homolog subfamily B member 4 Antibody name refers to this same gene product.
DNAJB4 has been studied in cancer biology, where altered expression has been associated with tumor progression and metastatic behavior in certain experimental systems. Reports have linked HLJ1 to changes in cell migration, invasion, and transcriptional programs, but such associations should be interpreted in their specific tumor context. The protein has also been examined as a stress-responsive co-chaperone. Understanding DNAJB4 therefore involves both its molecular partnership with Hsp70 and its effects on the stability of cellular proteins. NSJ Bioreagents includes DNAJB4 among proteins involved in chaperone-mediated regulation. A DNAJB4 Antibody provides a way to investigate the molecular biology associated with this protein.
