DMTF1 Antibody / Cyclin-D-binding Myb-like transcription factor 1 Antibody detects DMTF1, also known as DMP1, a transcriptional regulator with a Myb-related DNA-binding domain. DMTF1 participates in the control of cell proliferation and the response to oncogenic signaling. It was originally characterized through interactions with D-type cyclins, which are important regulators of cell-cycle progression. Unlike cyclin-dependent kinases, DMTF1 functions primarily through transcriptional regulation and interactions with other proteins that influence gene expression.
One well-studied aspect of DMTF1 biology is its connection to the ARF-p53 tumor suppressor pathway. In appropriate cellular contexts, DMTF1 can activate transcription of CDKN2A-derived ARF, which contributes to the stabilization and activity of p53 through regulation of MDM2. This pathway helps cells respond to excessive proliferative signals. DMTF1 can therefore link growth-promoting cues to mechanisms that restrain inappropriate cell-cycle progression. The protein also exists in alternatively spliced forms with distinct regulatory properties, complicating interpretation of total DMTF1 abundance. The Cyclin-D-binding Myb-like transcription factor 1 Antibody name refers to this same gene product.
DMTF1 has been studied in tumor biology because disruption of cell-cycle checkpoints can permit the expansion of cells carrying genetic damage. The relative abundance of different DMTF1 isoforms may influence transcriptional outcomes and interactions with growth-control pathways. These observations emphasize that DMTF1 cannot be understood solely as a direct binding partner of cyclin D. Its significance extends to transcriptional coordination of proliferative stress and tumor suppressor signaling. NSJ Bioreagents includes DMTF1 among factors associated with cell-cycle regulation and transcriptional control. A DMTF1 Antibody provides a way to investigate the molecular biology associated with this protein.
