CD68 Antibody KP1 Human Tonsil IHC. Immunohistochemical staining of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded human tonsil tissue using CD68 Antibody KP1 / KP1 Antibody. Strong cytoplasmic staining highlights numerous CD68-positive macrophages distributed throughout the tonsillar tissue, consistent with the expected localization of resident phagocytic cells within secondary lymphoid organs. The well-characterized KP1 clone provides robust detection of tissue macrophages, making it a widely used reagent for studies of innate immunity, inflammation and tumor-associated macrophage biology. This CD68 Antibody, clone KP1, is well suited for immunohistochemical identification of macrophage populations in normal and diseased tissues.
CD68 Antibody KP1 SDS-PAGE Purity Analysis. SDS-PAGE analysis of purified, BSA-free CD68 Antibody KP1 / KP1 Antibody under non-reducing (NR) and reducing (R) conditions confirms antibody integrity and high purity. A predominant band corresponding to intact IgG is observed under non-reducing conditions, while the expected heavy and light chains are resolved following reduction. CD68 Antibody KP1 / KP1 Antibody recognizes CD68 using the well-established mouse monoclonal clone KP1, one of the most widely cited antibodies for identifying macrophages in research and diagnostic pathology. CD68 is a heavily glycosylated lysosomal membrane protein expressed predominantly by macrophages, monocytes and other cells of the mononuclear phagocyte system. Because of its robust staining of tissue macrophages and broad use in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded specimens, the KP1 clone has become a trusted reagent for studies of innate immunity, inflammatory disease and tissue pathology. CD68 is localized primarily to intracellular lysosomes and endosomes, where it participates in endocytic and phagocytic processes associated with macrophage function. The KP1 clone is widely used to visualize these cells in normal tissues and disease, making it an important tool for evaluating immune cell infiltration, tissue remodeling and inflammatory responses.

Application Notes

The optimal dilution of the CD68 Antibody KP1 / KP1 Antibody for each application should be determined by the researcher.

1. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues is enhanced by boiling tissue sections in pH 9 10mM Tris with 1mM EDTA for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes.
2. The prediluted format is supplied in a dropper bottle and is optimized for use in IHC. After epitope retrieval step (if required), drip mAb solution onto the tissue section and incubate at RT for 30 min.

Immunogen

The subcellular fraction of human alveolar macrophages was used as the immunogen for this CD68 antibody.

Storage

Store the CD68 antibody at 2-8oC (with azide) or aliquot and store at -20oC or colder (without azide).
