Description

CD31 (Platelet Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule 1, PECAM1) is a transmembrane glycoprotein and member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is highly expressed on endothelial cells and is also found on platelets, monocytes, neutrophils, and certain T cell subsets. CD31 plays a central role in mediating cell–cell adhesion, particularly in vascular structures, and contributes to processes such as angiogenesis, leukocyte transmigration, and maintenance of endothelial integrity.

Due to its selective expression at intercellular junctions of endothelial cells, CD31 is widely used as a marker of vascular endothelium in both normal and experimental tissues. It is also studied for its involvement in immune regulation, vascular remodeling, and signaling pathways that influence cell survival and migration in the vascular system.

The CD31 antibody is a reliable reagent for detecting endogenous PECAM1 in applications such as immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and western blot. Immunogen

Recombinant mouse protein (amino acids Q41-E258) was used as the immunogen for the Cd31 antibody.

Storage

After reconstitution, the Cd31 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
