CD25 Antibody IL2RA/2393 recognizes CD25, the alpha subunit of the interleukin 2 receptor encoded by the IL2RA gene. CD25 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed prominently by activated T and B lymphocytes and by regulatory T cells. As part of the IL-2 receptor system, CD25 contributes to cellular responses to interleukin 2 and plays an important role in lymphocyte activation, proliferation, survival, and immune homeostasis.
CD25 functions independently as a low-affinity receptor for IL-2. Association with IL2RB (CD122) and the common gamma chain IL2RG (CD132) forms the high-affinity IL-2 receptor complex. Although CD25 itself does not provide the principal intracellular signaling activity of the receptor, its ability to capture IL-2 increases receptor affinity and facilitates signaling through pathways including JAK-STAT, PI3K-AKT, and MAPKs.
IL2RA expression is induced following activation of conventional lymphocytes and is characteristically high on regulatory T cells. IL-2 signaling through CD25-containing receptors is particularly important for regulatory T-cell development, maintenance, and suppressive activity. CD25 is therefore widely studied in immune activation and tolerance, inflammatory responses, and hematologic malignancies. Soluble CD25 can also be released from cells and has been investigated as a marker of immune-system activation.
Clone IL2RA/2393 is a mouse monoclonal antibody generated using stimulated human leukocytes as the immunogen. It recognizes epitope region B within the N-terminal portion of CD25 and can block IL-2 binding to CD25. The antibody has also been evaluated on a HuProt protein microarray containing more than 19,000 full-length human proteins to assess target specificity. As an IL2RA Monoclonal Antibody, clone IL2RA/2393 provides a defined reagent for investigating this important component of the IL-2 receptor system. NSJ Bioreagents supplies IL2RA/2393 for research use only.
A CD25 Antibody can be used to investigate IL2RA expression and molecular mechanisms connecting IL-2 receptor biology, lymphocyte activation, regulatory T-cell function, and immune regulation.
For a monoclonal clone with IHC and protein microarray specificity validation, see our CD25 Antibody IL2RA/2395 / IL2RA Antibody page.
Optimal dilution of the CD25 Antibody IL2RA/2393 should be determined by the researcher.
Stimulated human leukocytes were used as the immunogen for the CD25 Antibody IL2RA/2393.
Store the CD25 Antibody IL2RA/2393 at 2-8oC (with azide) or aliquot and store at -20oC or colder (without azide).
