CCR5 Antibody Human T Cell and Colon Cancer Cell WB. Western blot analysis of CCR5 Antibody / C-C Chemokine Receptor Type 5 Antibody detected a specific band at approximately 40 kDa, consistent with the expected molecular weight of CCR5. Lanes: (1) human Jurkat cell lysate and (2) human COLO320 cell lysate. Comparable immunoreactive bands are observed in both samples, demonstrating detection of endogenous CCR5 in human T cell and colon cancer cell lysates. This CCR5 Antibody supports western blot studies of C-C Chemokine Receptor Type 5, chemokine receptor signaling, immune cell trafficking, and inflammatory pathways.
CCR5 Antibody Mouse Liver WB. Western blot analysis of CCR5 Antibody / C-C Chemokine Receptor Type 5 Antibody detected a specific band at approximately 40 kDa in mouse liver tissue lysate, consistent with the predicted molecular weight of approximately 40 kDa. The blot was performed using 50 ug of mouse liver lysate with the antibody at 0.5 ug/ml. The strong, discrete immunoreactive band demonstrates specific recognition of endogenous CCR5 in mouse tissue. This CCR5 Antibody supports western blot studies of C-C Chemokine Receptor Type 5, chemokine signaling, leukocyte trafficking, and inflammatory responses.

Description

CCR5 Antibody / C-C Chemokine Receptor Type 5 Antibody recognizes CCR5, a seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor that directs leukocyte migration and immune cell activation in response to inflammatory chemokines. C-C Chemokine Receptor Type 5 is expressed primarily on activated T lymphocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, natural killer cells, and subsets of monocytes, where it binds chemokines including CCL3, CCL4, and CCL5 to regulate immune surveillance and inflammatory responses. Through activation of downstream signaling pathways, CCR5 influences chemotaxis, cytokine production, cellular activation, and immune cell recruitment to sites of infection or tissue injury.

Beyond its physiological role in immune regulation, C-C Chemokine Receptor Type 5 is widely recognized as one of the principal coreceptors used by macrophage-tropic strains of Human Immunodeficiency Virus type 1 to enter susceptible host cells. This discovery established CCR5 as an important therapeutic target, leading to the development of CCR5 antagonists that inhibit viral entry. Naturally occurring CCR5 genetic variants, particularly the CCR5-delta32 deletion, have also provided important insights into HIV resistance and immune function, making CCR5 a major focus of infectious disease research.

CCR5 has additional roles in cancer, autoimmune disorders, chronic inflammatory diseases, and transplantation biology. Aberrant CCR5 signaling has been associated with tumor progression, metastasis, and modulation of the tumor microenvironment in several malignancies. Ongoing studies continue to investigate how CCR5 contributes to immune cell trafficking, inflammatory signaling, antiviral immunity, and therapeutic responses across a broad range of diseases.

A CCR5 Antibody is a valuable reagent for detecting endogenous CCR5 by western blotting, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, and related laboratory applications. A C-C Chemokine Receptor Type 5 Antibody supports investigations of chemokine receptor biology, immune cell migration, inflammatory signaling, HIV entry mechanisms, and cancer immunology.

For additional information about CCR5 biology, CD195 function, chemokine receptor signaling, and the full research applications of this target, see our CCR5 Antibody / CD195 Antibody page.

Application Notes

The stated application concentrations are suggested starting amounts. Titration of the CCR5 Antibody / C-C Chemokine Receptor Type 5 Antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.

Immunogen

An amino acid sequence from the middle region of mouse CCR5 (SPHFPHTQYHFWKSFQTLK) was used as the immunogen for this CCR5 antibody.

Storage

After reconstitution, the CCR5 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

Alternate Names

CCR5 antibody, C-C Chemokine Receptor Type 5 antibody, CD195 antibody, C-C CKR-5 antibody, CC Chemokine Receptor 5 antibody
