Calponin, encoded by the CNN1 gene, is an actin-binding protein widely used as a marker of differentiated smooth muscle cells. Calponin is a calmodulin, F-actin and tropomyosin binding protein which is thought to be involved in the regulation of smooth muscle contraction.
This Calponin antibody complements a related Calponin 1 antibody targeting CNN1 and smooth muscle-associated contractile protein biology.
Optimal dilution of the Calponin antibody should be determined by the researcher.
Recombinant human protein was used as the immunogen for the Calponin antibody.
Store the Calponin antibody at 2-8oC (with azide) or aliquot and store at -20oC or colder (without azide).
