Description

MYC is a transcription factor that binds DNA in a non-specific manner, yet also specifically recognizes the core sequence 5'-CAC[GA]TG-3'. It activates the transcription of growth-related genes [UniProt]. It is also commonly used as an epitope tag to purifiy and identify tagged recombinant proteins.

Application Notes

Titration of the c-Mycantibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.

Immunogen

Amino acids 408-439 of the human protein were used as the immunogen for the c-Myc antibody.

Storage

Aliquot the c-Myc antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
