Apolipoprotein D is a glycoprotein found in a variety of human tissues and biological fluids. It belongs to the lipocalin protein family and has the ability to associate with small hydrophobic molecules, including lipids. Apolipoprotein D expression varies among tissues and cell types and may change in response to physiological and cellular conditions.
Apolipoprotein D has been investigated in a range of biological contexts, including lipid-related processes, cellular stress and tissue homeostasis. Its broad tissue distribution has also led to studies examining changes in protein expression under normal and disease-associated conditions.
An Apolipoprotein D Antibody can be used to investigate the expression and distribution of this protein in appropriate research samples. NSJ Bioreagents provides antibodies for research into APOD and related cellular processes.
For broader research into APOD function, lipid transport and lipocalin biology, see our APOD Antibody / Lipocalin Family Protein Antibody page.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting amounts. Titration of the Apolipoprotein D antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
An amino acid sequence from the C-terminus of human Apolipoprotein D (IDVKKMTVTDQVNCPKLS) was used as the immunogen for this Apolipoprotein D antibody.
After reconstitution, the Apolipoprotein D antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
