APOB Antibody APOB/4335 / Apolipoprotein B Antibody recognizes apolipoprotein B, a large lipid-binding protein encoded by the APOB gene. APOB is an essential structural component of circulating lipoprotein particles and plays a central role in the transport and metabolism of cholesterol, triglycerides, and other lipids. Unlike exchangeable apolipoproteins, apolipoprotein B remains associated with the lipoprotein particle on which it is assembled, providing structural organization throughout the particle's lifecycle.
Two major forms of apolipoprotein B are produced in humans. ApoB-100 is the full-length protein and is synthesized primarily in the liver, where it serves as the principal structural protein of very-low-density lipoprotein. ApoB-100 remains associated with particles as VLDL is remodeled into intermediate-density lipoprotein and low-density lipoprotein, and it contains the region responsible for interaction with the LDL receptor. ApoB-48 is a shorter form produced through tissue-specific RNA editing of the APOB transcript and is an essential structural component of intestinal chylomicrons.
Through these two forms, apolipoprotein B participates in both endogenous and dietary lipid transport. APOB is therefore widely studied in relation to lipoprotein assembly, cholesterol homeostasis, triglyceride transport, cardiovascular biology, and metabolic disease. Because ApoB remains associated with atherogenic lipoprotein particles, its expression and abundance are also important subjects in research examining lipoprotein particle number and mechanisms contributing to dyslipidemia.
Clone APOB/4335 is a mouse monoclonal antibody generated against amino acids 592-689 of human apolipoprotein B, a sequence within the N-terminal region shared by ApoB-100 and ApoB-48. The clone has been cited in published research and is Protein Microarray Validated using the HuProt platform containing more than 19,000 full-length human proteins. This large-scale protein array analysis provides additional evidence of target recognition and specificity for the Apolipoprotein B Antibody.
NSJ Bioreagents offers clone APOB/4335 for research into apolipoprotein expression, lipoprotein biology, and metabolic regulation. An APOB Antibody can support investigation of lipid transport, lipoprotein assembly, cholesterol homeostasis, and molecular mechanisms associated with APOB-dependent metabolism.
For an alternative Protein Microarray Validated monoclonal clone with additional tissue validation, see our APOB Antibody APOB/3300 / Lipoprotein B Antibody page.
Optimal dilution of the APOB Antibody APOB/4335 should be determined by the researcher.
A portion of amino acids 592-689 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for the APOB Antibody APOB/4335.
Aliquot the APOB Antibody APOB/4335 and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
