CD19 Antibody Human Appendix IHC. Immunohistochemistry analysis of FFPE human appendix tissue using CD19 Antibody. Heat induced antigen retrieval was performed by boiling tissue sections in pH 8 EDTA buffer for 20 minutes prior to staining. Strong membranous staining is observed in lymphoid cell populations, consistent with CD19 expression on B cells within immune tissue. These results support the use of CD19 Antibody for studying B cell markers, immune cell identification and lymphocyte-associated pathways.

Specific bands are detected between approximately 60–100 kDa, consistent with the expected molecular weight range of glycosylated CD19 protein. CD19 expression is shown in red with DAPI nuclear counterstain shown in blue. Strong membranous staining is observed in B cell populations, supporting the use of CD19 Antibody / B Cell Marker Antibody for studying B lymphocyte markers, immune cell localization and immune tissue organization.

Description

B-lymphocyte antigen CD19, also known as CD19 (Cluster of Differentiation 19), is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CD19 gene. It is found on the surface of B-cells, a type of white blood cell. Lymphocytes proliferate and differentiate in response to various concentrations of different antigens. The ability of the B cell to respond in a specific, yet sensitive manner to the various antigens is achieved with the use of low-affinity antigen receptors. The CD19 gene encodes a cell surface molecule that assembles with the antigen receptor of B lymphocytes in order to decrease the threshold for antigen receptor-dependent stimulation.
