Angiopoietin-Like 3, also known as ANGPT5, is a protein which in humans is encoded by the ANGPTL3 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the angiopoietin-like family of secreted factors. By radiation hybrid mapping and the use of surrounding genes, Conklin et al.(1999) mapped the gene to chromosome 1p31. It is predominantly expressed in the liver, and has the characteristic structure of angiopoietins, consisting of a signal peptide, N-terminal coiled-coil domain and the C-terminal fibrinogen(FBN)-like domain. Angptl3 also acts as dual inhibitor of lipoprotein lipase(LPL) and endothelial lipase(EL), and increases plasma triglyceride and HDL cholesterol in rodents. ANGPTL3 inhibit endothelial lipase to catalyze HDL-phospholipid and increase HDL-PL levels.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting amounts. Titration of the ANGPTL3 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
An amino acid sequence from the N-terminus of human Angiopoietin-Like 3 (EPKSRFAMLDDVKILAN) was used as the immunogen for this ANGPTL3 antibody (100% homologous in human, mouse and rat).
After reconstitution, the ANGPTL3 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
