Alpha-fetoprotein is a major plasma protein produced by the yolk sac and the liver during fetal life. This protein is thought to be the fetal counterpart of serum albumin, and the alpha-fetoprotein and albumin genes are present in tandem in the same transcriptional orientation on chromosome 4.
The concentration stated for each application is a general starting point. Titration of the AFP antibody may be required.
A portion of amino acids 56-85 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for this AFP antibody.
Store at 4oC for up to one month. For long term, aliquot the AFP antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
