Description

AFF4 (AF4/FMR2 family member 4) is a core scaffold of the Super Elongation Complex (SEC), coordinating RNA polymerase II pause release and productive elongation. By bridging P-TEFb (CDK9–Cyclin T1), ELL family elongation factors, and ENL/AF9 partners, AFF4 stabilizes SEC assembly at target loci, enabling rapid transcriptional responses during development, stress adaptation, and lineage specification.

Dysregulation of AFF4 disrupts elongation control and has been linked to oncogenic transcription programs and certain developmental phenotypes. AFF4 also intersects with viral gene regulation, where modulation of P-TEFb availability impacts transcriptional reactivation, making it relevant for studies spanning epigenetic control, host–pathogen interactions, and therapeutic transcriptional reprogramming.

The AFF4 antibody supports specific detection of endogenous AFF4 in applications such as western blot, immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation, and chromatin-focused assays. Researchers use the AFF4 antibody to quantify protein abundance, assess chromatin association with transcriptional machinery, and monitor SEC integrity under genetic or pharmacologic perturbations. Immunogen

Amino acids 6-53 (RNVLRMKERERRNQEIQQGEDAFPPSSPLFAEPYKVTSKEDKLSSRIQ-human) were used as the immunogen for the AFF4 antibody.

Storage

After reconstitution, the AFF4 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
