Actin, a highly conserved protein, is a major component of both the cytoskeletal and contractile structures in the cell types. It varies in amount, being related to the type of differentiation and to the functional state of cells and tissues. The actins exhibit over 90% sequence homology, but each isoform has a unique NH2-terminal sequence. There are three isoforms: alpha, beta, and gamma. Because the amino acid sequence of the C-terminal is the same for almost all actins, this antibody has been raised using a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal 11 residues.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting points. Titration of the Actin antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
1. HIER: steamed with pH6 citrate buffer is required for FFPE testing.
Amino acids 39-51 (RHQGVMVGMGQKD) was used as the immunogen for this Actin antibody (100% homologous human, mouse and rat).
After reconstitution, the Actin antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
