Tropomyosin-3 binds to actin filaments in muscle and non-muscle cells. Plays a central role, in association with the troponin complex, in the calcium dependent regulation of vertebrate striated muscle contraction. Smooth muscle contraction is regulated by interaction with caldesmon. In non-muscle cells is implicated in stabilizing cytoskeleton actin filaments.
Titration of the TPM3 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 245-276 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for the TPM3 antibody.
Aliquot the TPM3 antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
