Description

TIMP2 gene is encoded by 5 exons spanning 83 kb of genomic DNA. TIMP2 is 83 kilobase pairs(kb) long with exon-intron splicing sites located in preserved positions among the three members of the TIMP family. The gene for tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-2 is localized on human chromosome arm 17q25. TIMP-2 abrogates angiogenic factor-induced endothelial cell proliferation in vitro and angiogenesis in vivo independent of MMP inhibition.

Application Notes

The stated application concentrations are suggested starting amounts. Titration of the TIMP2 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.

Immunogen

An amino acid sequence from the C-terminus of human TIMP2 (RGAAPPKQEFLDIEDP) was used as the immunogen for this TIMP2 antibody (100% homologous in human, mouse and rat).

Storage

After reconstitution, the TIMP2 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
