The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the SMAD family, which transduces signals from TGF-beta family members. The encoded protein is activated by bone morphogenetic proteins and interacts with SMAD4. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Titration of the SMAD9 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 200-228 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for this SMAD9 antibody.
Aliquot the SMAD9 antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
