Catalyzes the methyl esterification of L-isoaspartyl and D-aspartyl residues in peptides and proteins that result from spontaneous decomposition of normal L-aspartyl and L-asparaginyl residues. It plays a role in the repair and/or degradation of damaged proteins. Titration of the PCMT1 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 93-126 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for the PCMT1 antibody.
Aliquot the PCMT1 antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
