NPEPPS/PSA is the puromycin-sensitive aminopeptidase, a zinc metallopeptidase which hydrolyzes amino acids from the N-terminus of its substrate. The protein has been localized to both the cytoplasm and to cellular membranes. This enzyme degrades enkaphalins in the brain, and studies in mouse suggest that it is involved in proteolytic events regulating the cell cycle.
Titration of the NPEPPS antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
A portion of amino acids 709-737 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for this NPEPPS antibody.
Aliquot the NPEPPS antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
