Mucin 6, oligomeric mucus/gel-forming, also known as MUC6, is a human gene. This gene encodes a member of the mucin protein family. Mucins are high molecular weight glycoproteins produced by many epithelial tissues. The protein encoded by this gene is secreted and forms an insoluble mucous barrier that protects the gut lumen. The MUC6 gene encodes gastric mucin, a secreted glycoprotein that plays an essential role in epithelial cytoprotection from acid, proteases, pathogenic microorganisms, and mechanical trauma in the gastrointestinal tract.
Optimal dilution of the MUC6 antibody should be determined by the researcher.
Human Gastric Mucin recombinant protein (amino acids H52-R230) was used as the immunogen for the MUC6 antibody.
After reconstitution, the MUC6 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
