O6-alkylguanine DNA alkyltransferase (also known as AGT, MGMT or AGAT) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MGMT gene. This gene is crucial for genome stability. The protein repairs the naturally occurring mutagenic DNA lesion O6-methylguanine back to guanine and prevents mismatch and errors during DNA replication and transcription. It has been found that methylation of the MGMT promoter in the tumor was associated with longer survival.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting amounts. Titration of the MGMT antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
Human partial recombinant protein (AA 2-207) was used as the immunogen for this MGMT antibody.
After reconstitution, the MGMT antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
