GAP43 is expressed by developing and regenerating neurons, and to a lesser extent, reactive glial cells. It is used widely to specifically label injured neurons and to score neuronal regeneration. GAP43 is also a neuronal growth cone protein thought to be involved in pathfinding. GAP43 is considered to be a crucial component of an effective regenerative response in the nervous system.
The stated application concentrations are suggested starting amounts. Titration of the GAP43 antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.
GAP-43 from neonatal rat forebrain membranes was used as the immunogen for this GAP43 antibody.
After reconstitution, the GAP43 antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
