Description

Catenin gamma, also known as Junction plakoglobin (JUP) or Plakoglobin (PKGB), is a major cytoplasmic protein which is the only known constituent common to submembranous plaques of both desmosomes and intermediate junctions. Catenin beta and gamma, vertebrate homologs of Drosophila armadillo, function in cell adhesion and the Wnt signaling pathway. Catenin gamma may have distinct roles in Wnt signaling and cancer via differential effects on downstream target genes.

Application Notes

The stated application concentrations are suggested starting amounts. Titration of the Gamma Catenin antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.

Immunogen

An amino acid sequence from the N-terminus of human Gamma Catenin (LLATQVEGQATNLQRLAE) was used as the immunogen for this Gamma Catenin antibody.

Storage

After reconstitution, the Gamma Catenin antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20oC. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
