Description

Coagulation factor VII (F7) initiates the extrinsic pathway of blood coagulation. Serine protease that circulates in the blood in a zymogen form. F7 is converted to F7a by factor Xa, XIIa, IXa, or thrombin by minor proteolysis. In the presence of tissue factor (TF) and calcium ions, F7a then converts F10 to F10a by limited proteolysis. F7a will also convert F9 to F9a in the presence of TF and calcium.

Application Notes

Titration of the Factor VII antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.

Immunogen

A portion of amino acids 302-332 from the human protein was used as the immunogen for the Factor VII antibody.

Storage

Aliquot the Factor VII antibody and store frozen at -20oC or colder. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
